What we do at FlockSpeed

Quality service to meet customer needs

We only use the best quality flock and adhesives and use the best high end professional application methods. All our flocking is carried out in a temperature controlled environment to provide a faultless finish. However, as motor-sport competitors ourselves we understand the need for a quick turn around on parts. Most items can be returned within 48 hours.

Using a quality process to give a quality finish

The process of flocking can be carried out on many surfaces and materials.  First a suitable adhesive is applied to the surface to be flocked. The flock is then applied, penetrating the surface of the adhesive to create the desired velvet finish.  Electrostatic flock applicators charge the flock particles which are then attracted to the grounded surface that is to be flocked. Unlike puffer or blown application methods which merely sprinkle a flock layer onto the surface, electrostatic application ensures that the fibres all end up standing at right angles to the surface resulting in a velvet finish.

Meeting expectations in motor sport

Electrostatic flocking is used extensively in the automotive industry for coating window rubbers, door cards, consoles and dashboards. Rally cars usually have their dashes flocked to reduce reflections and to provide an as new finished to a modified dash.

Top quality methods flexible to customers' needs

Do not confuse a professionally flocked dash with a dash done by a low powered machine or puffer method.  Using suitable adhesives flock can be applied to an endless range of materials including plastic, metal, wood, rubber and fibreglass.  We also have many colours available to create the perfect custom finish to either stand out of blend in where required.

From Cars to Art Galleries

Much of our work is based within the rally car market although we regularly undertake work for kit cars, track day cars, marine applications to name a few. We have also flocked many household items as well as items for shop displays, museums and art displays.
